GMA Town Hall Meeting
I watch the news every morning as I'm getting my daughter ready for school. I like to get an idea of what the weather is going to be like for the day. After the news goes off at 7 am Good Morning America comes on. Today's segment was a town hall meeting in Des Moines, Iowa where Senator Hillary Clinton was the guest speaker. One of the topics was Health Care and Veterans Care. I was very interested to hear what she had to say. She was asked by a young man who has served in the military,"What would she do to improve veterans health care". Since we know that many, many veterans are not getting the care that they need. Her response was that she is in favor of mandatory funding for the VA. She may have also said that she was sponsoring legislation to that effect. Senator Clinton went on to say that outpatient care needed to be stepped up because the ball has been dropped especially in response to the under reporting of traumatic brain injuries that our service members are suffering due to the war in Iraq. I personally appreciated what she said because it is true that our veterans are not receiving the care they deserve.
